Why do you love UCI?

I love UCI because of the supportive community it has built for me throughout my stay here. Whether it’s the professors, peers, or professional staff members from different programs, they all genuinely want the best for me. They embrace mistakes and encourage me to learn from those mistakes by giving me useful advice and/or constructive feedback so I can succeed the next time I try. Because of them, I saw noticeable growth in myself personally and professionally, and I hope to foster a similar community to my peers.

How can you be a successful Anteater?

A successful Anteater to me is being able to control your own learning and exploration. College, in general, comes with many opportunities, and UCI is one such institution where opportunities seem endless. It’s unrealistic to participate in all of them, so to make the most out of your 4 years, I think it’s important to really map out what it is you want to do at UCI. This is unlike in high school where you join clubs to build a strong profile for college. Instead, this is the chance for you to figure out your passions and explore your different sides. Don’t be afraid to try new things and step out of your comfort zones. In the end, this is your college experience and you know what’s best for you!

What is one fun fact about yourself?

Whenever I shop for shoes, I can only shop at the kids’ section because I have small feet.
