Why do you love UCI?

The architecture is pretty cool. I like to look up at the shapes that the buildings make and imagine that the architects had my specific experience in mind when they planned them. Like that they made the way the shapes of the buildings cut an outline of the sky in this certain way just for me to see in that moment. One example is in the arts section. If you’re walking on Mesa Road towards the bus stop and you turn left before those big block stairs with the flowers (I think it’s the turn after that weird statue that looks like a twisted pot or it might be that one), and you go down a set of stairs before a little door. and look up, the buildings look kind of cool, like sort of artsy fartsy. It’s not very extravagant, but I think its interesting.

How can you be a successful Anteater?

I can be a successful Anteater by consistently doing the things that I’m interested in until I am good at them. For me, a big part of college has been figuring out the sorts of things that I would want to be doing irrespective of where I am or what circumstances I’m in. Those are the things that I’m passionate about. I figure if I can pick a few things that I really like and stick to them, eventually, I’ll be goated forever.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

A fun fact about myself is that I hate UCI parking. They are crooks and criminals. The idea that it’s normal and expected for us to pay so much money just to park is something that makes me seethe and spit like a dying dog. I’m sure there are arguments for why it’s actually good that we need to pay for parking. For example, it makes people want to take the bus instead of use cars, which is better for the environment. Maybe if there weren’t any restrictions on parking, UCI would be a dystopian car-scape where you wouldn’t be able to see anything because there’d so many cars stacked on top of each other. I don’t care. The rage in my heart needs no justification. UCI parking is my enemy now and forever.
