Why do you love UCI?
I love UCI because I have found a community that has allowed me to grow to be comfortable being myself. The spaces that have welcomed me at UCI have helped me foster meaningful relationships with other students who have similar passions, mindsets, or goals as I do. Being surrounded by such driven students helps me hold myself accountable to apply myself in becoming the best student, and person, that I can be.
How can you be a successful Anteater?
I believe that a key to becoming a successful Anteater is not being afraid to ask for help. Whether academically or personally, there are many resources at UCI focused on helping us succeed as students. It is very common to feel alone in college, but if you put in the effort to reach out for help, you will find that you are less alone than it feels. It is definitely easier said than done and can seem intimidating, but just attending your professors’ office hours, meeting with academic advisors, or even seeking out the resources that UCI has to offer for our personal lives, can make a huge difference in feeling accomplished as college students.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I am a first degree black belt in Taekwondo!
