Why do you love UCI?
UCI has introduced to me to some of the greatest communities I’ve ever been a part of. Through participating in the variety of clubs offered here, such as Barebones Dance Theater, `Kaba Modern Hip Hop Crew, and Sole Rhythms Tap Club, I’ve found my own individuality and made friends that will last for a lifetime. Additionally, UCI has such a beautiful campus and surrounding areas that have been super fun to explore. I love being able to come to school and feel surrounded by people I love, an amazing faculty, beautiful nature, and, of course, Peter the Anteater!
How can you be a successful Anteater?
My best advice for becoming a successful Anteater is to prioritize your communication skills! Professors, coworkers, and peers will always welcome your input and inquiries about a job/class/club/etc. Practicing these skills will be also be beneficial for setting yourself up for a successful career and social life in the future, giving you a head start. Lastly, I’d encourage you to be welcoming of new ideas and opinions. Challenging your values and beliefs is the best way to find self-growth and support your ever-changing brain and body.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
On various occasions, I’ve discovered I can do very obscure impressions. This summer, I realized I had an incredibly accurate ability to be Mort from Madagascar. Toad from Super Mario is another one of my favorites. I like to think I have an amazing rendition of Cynthia Erivo’s final riff in “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, although I also love Glinda. These are the main impressions that I know of right now, but I’m curious to see what else I can do in the future.
