Why do you love UCI?
I love UCI because I have found a community of people who can understand and relate to one another. I have been blessed to find people who have the same interests, major, and hobbies as me. I have found other students who are first generation Latina students and can resonate with the same stories I have had. It has been great making friends and seeing representation of my own culture.
How can you be a successful Anteater?
You can be a successful Anteater by giving yourself grace and making time for yourself. We tend to suffer with imposter syndrome and look at how others are doing without acknowledging all the work, time, and studying we have put in. School, midterms, and socializing all require your time and commitment. Sometimes we get lost in providing that time for ourselves. I have learned that prioritizing and making time for myself has helped me mentally, physically, and emotionally.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about me is that I love the movie Shrek. Every time I watch the movies, it heals my inner child. You will most likely see me in Shrek merch often! And, Shrek 5 is in the waiting now!! 🙂
