Why do you love UCI?
Funny story, when I was completing my UC college application, I didn’t know that UCI existed. I was happy though because that meant that I had the opportunity to go to a college that wasn’t too far from home. I’m glad to be an anteater because of the amazing mentors I have found here. My mentors encourage me to exceed my potential, understand my challenges, and are happy to help. As an anteater, I know that I have many places on campus where I could seek help and I know who to reach out to. While it may not look like that for everyone, I know that UCI has the resources.
How can you be a successful Anteater?
My number one motto is “Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.” I struggled during my first year because I wanted to stay in my comfortable bubble. When I started to live more by my motto, I began to connect with more wonderful people, gain new internships, and mentor students. UCI has a wide range of opportunities, resources, and mentors available to us. Being a successful anteater entails being open-minded to ideas, changes, and self-development. There will be many circumstances where you may be anxious, confused, or scared but it’s part of being in new spaces and learning new things.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I love learning new hobbies, especially arts and crafts hobbies such as crochet and pottery. Although I’m still a beginner, I can’t wait to start working on cute projects. Some of my other interests include F1, K-pop, and Legos.
