Why do you love UCI?
Peter alone is enough to make UC Irvine my ideal school, however Aldrich Park is what consistently makes my day every time I’m on campus. There is nothing more fulfilling than plopping on the grass and basking in the sun after a strenuous afternoon of being an Anteater. Relaxing, people watching, and reading are my favorite things to do; all of which are optimal for a sunny day in Aldrich Park.
How can you be a successful Anteater?
I think the key to being a successful Anteater is accepting failure as an integral part to overall growth. During my first year, I faced so many hardships both academically and socially that were made much harder with my inability to accept them as obstacles that were hindering me. It was only when I acknowledged them and found — and actually accepted — sufficient support that I was much more confident and successful. Failure can be the result to any situation; success can be too depending on how you navigate it!
What is one fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about me is that I’ve been to all fifty states. I’m always asked which one is my favorite, and I’m always sorry to be a bore by responding with California — specifically northern, as I feel a particular soulful connection with the vast redwoods. My runner ups are Oregon and Vermont (I have a thing for excessive greenery).
