Why do you love UCI?
The community and the people at UCI is what I love the most. Coming in as an out of state student I was super nervous to come to a brand-new place without knowing anyone. The community here has been very welcoming and inviting which has made the transition from across the country so much easier. I love getting to know people and seeing what shared interests we have. The friendships and experiences I have made here will be forever impactful!
How can you be a successful Anteater?
A successful Anteater prioritizes themselves along with their studies. In an academically rigorous school, it can be hard to take time to focus on yourself. It is imperative that we practice self-care and prioritize our well-being. We must be intentional when managing our busy workloads so we have time to be social, rest and eat. Doing this we can have motivation and energy to do great work inside and outside the classroom!
What is one fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about myself is that I used to do gymnastics! The order of my favorite events goes like this floor, bars, vault and beam. I loved learning new skills and being with my teammates. My favorite gymnasts are Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, they are still some of my biggest role models today. When I am able to, I still go to a gymnastics open gym nearby. I think it’s important to connect with your past passions and hobbies!
