Personal Biography

Why do you love UCI?

I love UCI’s engaging academic climate and down-to-earth student community! As a transfer student from Fall 2021, I chose UCI for its fascinating course options for the English degree pathway. I have loved the rigor and diversity of my classes, and been astonished at how welcoming my peers are. For me, UCI has been a place of creativity and inclusive community.

How can you be a successful Anteater?

I have found that while prioritizing academics is a vastly important part of succeeding at UCI, failing to have a life outside of school can be similarly devastating. Forming relationships with others and joining clubs based on academic or nonacademic interests has been crucial for the maintenance of my school-work-life balance, and I find that I’m much more motivated to invest in academics when I have dedicated time both to work and to socialize. It can be hard to take this first step, but I would encourage any Anteaters who want to thrive at UCI to get connected with other students on campus! Finding community is so worth it and will help you to prioritize what’s important to you.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

One fun fact about me is that I have been knitting and crocheting since I was about eight years old! It was one of my childhood dreams to knit a pair of socks, and when I was ten I actually managed to do it (even though it took me about a year to finish the pair!). Recently, I have been making flowered crochet bandannas and experimenting with new stitches and patterns.
