Personal Biography

Why do you love UCI?

I love UCI because of the calm and welcoming atmosphere the students create here. It feels like every person is rooting for one another, which has helped me connect with a lot of students in several different clubs on campus. Also, one of the many benefits of going to a research university like UCI is being able to be a part of a research lab. I’ve had great experiences in research, as I’ve got to apply lab techniques I learned from my classes to help on projects and publications while pursuing my research interest.

How can you be a successful Anteater?

Being a successful anteater is based on your ability to set challenging, but realistic goals you are determined to achieve. A lot of people say that discipline is what helps you succeed and achieve your goals rather than focusing on motivation. Though I agree with this statement, I believe that you can only be disciplined if you have a set goal for yourself and the passion to achieve this goal. Setting realistic goals will help you create a schedule and timeline that takes into account your mental wellbeing in addition to achieving that goal. We sometimes forget that we are not machines. There are days that you physically and mentally can’t do work. Having a schedule that gives you mental health days can prevent burnout and let you enjoy your college years.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I really enjoy running and just being outdoors in general. I typically run in the mornings on campus, but I also enjoy taking long walks in the afternoon time. Running a marathon is definitely on my bucket list, but unfortunately my running routine isn’t that consistent. I hope as the days get longer and the weather gets nicer I’ll go on runs more consistently.
