Why do you love UCI?
I love UCI because of the amazing people who make up the UCI community and because of its dedication to its students. UCI has so many wonderful clubs and programs, all designed to help students succeed during their time here. It is through these clubs and programs that I have been able to meet incredible friends and mentors who have given so much to me and helped me grow into a better person. Whether we are crammed in a study room all night, stressing out over test scores, or spending our day relaxing on the beach, I love the connections I have made here and would not trade my experiences at UCI for anything. The people who make up this school are what make it so special, which is why I am happy for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to me by working as a PAA.
How can you be a successful Anteater?
It is my belief that anybody can become a successful Anteater if they truly want to. Everybody’s path is different, meaning that there is no correct way to be successful during your time at UCI. However, in my time here, there are a few things I have recognized that can greatly help. Firstly, take advantage of the opportunities provided to you by UCI. This could be anything from joining clubs to studying abroad or getting help from a PAA. Whatever it is, take advantage of what UCI provides you. Secondly, manage your time well and work hard when you need to. Many people I have seen get overwhelmed because they put off a lot of their work until the last minute. I encourage people to try and manage their time well and really dedicate yourself to working hard at the times you have designated to do work. Finally, and maybe most importantly, just have fun! It can be so easy to get caught up in everything you need to get done when you’re in college, but it is very important to give yourself time to just breathe, relax, and have fun doing whatever it is that you want to do. I truly believe that if you can try your best to do these things as well as maintain a positive mindset, you will be a very successful Anteater.
What is one fun fact about yourself?
I’m a huge outdoors person, and I love animals. I grew up camping, hiking, and spending time with animals, and these activities have now become my favorite hobbies. Anytime I am outside in nature, far away from civilization, I am happy.
